According to Rogan, the UFC (under Fox’s orders) paints over the canvas to cover blood during UFC on Fox events. They only do this at UFC on Fox events, due to the network’s desire to shelter fans from the fact that fighters sometimes get hurt when punching one another in the face.
The painting sends fumes cascading towards fans, the commentators, the media, photographers and the road crew. That’s not safe!
