GSP Begins Training Camp With Freddie Roach For MMA Comeback

MMA

In just over a week, GSP will be starting an intense 6-week training camp with coach Freddie Roach in order to decide if he wants to fight in the UFC again or not. This means a Georges St-Pierre return is very likely, because he wouldn’t be putting in a training camp with one of the most expensive coaches in the world if he wasn’t hoping to fight. He just wants to make sure his body can handle it, see how things feel, shake off the cobwebs. It’s not like GSP has been sitting around doing nothing, he’s still been spending a ton of time in the gym at Tri-Star, but this is his first official training camp since defeating Johny Hendricks two years ago.

MMA fans are split on whether they want to see GSP fight again. It’s rare for a champion to retire on top, and GSP has one of the best records of all time after avenging both of his career losses and clearing two generations of fighters out of his division.

But picturing GSP, who has gone up against some really heavy hitters and has talked about losing time and having crazy headaches, in there with Robbie Lawler is a scary thought. There are some fun fights out there for GSP that could do blockbuster numbers. Anderson’s suspension is up really soon…
