The reason that weight classes exist is to keep fights fair, so that you don’t have some huge muscled monster tearing apart a much smaller opponent.

Gotta love the photoshop skills on posters for smaller promotions.

Women have a unique problem that men don’t have to think about:

Let’s say you have two women who are essentially the same size, but one of them is flat-chested and has an extra 12 pounds of muscle, whereas her opponent isn’t able to carry as much strength because she’s got a set of 12 pound knockers. That’s more than the 10lb difference between weight classes, so the large-chested woman is basically fighting up two weight classes.

Meet Brye Anne Russillo.

Brye Anne and her upcoming opponent had to go back and forth a few times when deciding which weight class their bout would take place in. Her opponent usually fights at 145, and Brye Anne fights at 155. The two agreed to meet in the middle at 150.

I can’t cut my tits off and put them on the side, they weigh 12 pounds,” says Brye Anne Russillo.

Russillo says she plans on dropping to 135 for her next fight. Let’s hope that doesn’t mean what we think it means…

Currently, Brye Anne is going into this title fight with a record of 1-1.
