UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson entered the Octagon last Saturday night at the T-mobile arena in the UFC 216 bout against Ray Borg. As usual, Demetrious dominated virtually the entire bout, and in the fifth round he surprised everyone by taking the victory with a suplex-armbar lever. This victory also meant ‘Mighty Mouse’ eleven consecutive title defenses, beating former midfield champion Anderson Silva.
UFC president Dana White was present at the press conference after the undercard ended, and there he referred to the position that Demetrious now occupies as the best MMA fighter of all time (via BJPenn.com ):
Dana White: “Guys, you know how crazy Joe Rogan is for Jiu-Jitsu. Rogan was in the ring and said, ‘I’ve never seen that in a Jiu-Jitsu match.’ he said, ‘It’s crazy, the kid is a phenomenon.’ And it is true. Man, Demetrious is the best. He broke Anderson Silva’s record, and he did it dramatically. And I feel that I lacked a bit respect for Ray Borg with the whole (theme) of TJ Dillashaw. That boy went out to fight. He went out to fight, did not want to slap at that arm lever. I do not know if you’ve already talked to him, his arm can not feel too good, but he’s rude and he did not want to disrespect him.”
Dana then asked if Demetrious is the best in history, and this was the response of the boss of the UFC:
