Anytime Conor or Floyd say anything, on any subject, it makes headlines.. so can you even imagine the hype that would exist if these two actually scheduled a fight against eachother? Conor is going to be out of commission until he has his baby, but maybe something like an exhibition boxing match would be a good way to pass the time and to get the massive payday he’s been waiting for. Rumor has it he’s currently pulling 15-20 million per fight with PPV points on his current UFC contract, so 100m in one shot isn’t a bad raise at all.
It’s hard to imagine Conor having any kind of a shot against Floyd in a boxing match, but it would have been hard to imagine him holding 2 UFC belts at t he same time a year or two ago. Still, Floyd’s boxing is on another level, but Conor would have a puncher’s chance.
There is also talk of the WWE being very interested in working with McGregor, and they even had some high-level executives scoping the scene at UFC 205. That would be a another good way for Conor to stack some cash during his “off-season”, making a few WWE appearances and building up a story line. It would get a lot of UFC eyeballs on the WWE, and vice-versa for when Conor returned to the Octagon.
In any case, it’s likely that none of this ends up happening, but.. could you imagine?
