Jon Jones has never marched to the UFC’s drum. While the UFC likes to turn fighters like Chael Sonnen and Ronda Rousey into companymen by putting them front-and-center on everything and flying in chefs and giving them gifts, Jon Jones has always looked out for Jon Jones first.
The UFC got really mad started repping Beats by Dre instead of those crappy Octagon headphones.
The UFC knows it, too, and while you’ll see Dana White go out of his way to defend Ronda Rousey, he has tried to chop down Jon Jones at every opportunity. Jones, obviously, doesn’t like that, and suggested in his interview with Helwani that he hasn’t forgotten how many times he has been slighted, and suggested that he’s going to get back at the UFC for it.
This is what a smart, but super pissed off, fighter looks like.
