Cris Cyborg Says Ronda Rousey is a Bad Role Model, a Bully, and Afraid to Fight Her

Depending on your definition of “bully”, Cyborg is probably accurate in labeling Rousey such. Rousey and Dana White speak from an untouchable place in MMA, as the two most visible faces in MMA today and two of just a handful capable of garnering actual mainstream media attention. Cyborg, who has never fought in the UFC and has only started receiving attention from the ESPNs of the world over the last few weeks, has never really had a large platform to respond on.
It’s two people ganging up on one, attacking from a position where they know the victim can’t defend…yeah, they’re bullies.
And of course, Cyborg is on to something with questioning Rousey as a role model. She isn’t the first to make this claim (Miesha Tate and Arianny Celeste have been saying this for years) but with Rousey’s soft stance on violence against women, seen with her budding romance with alleged wife beater Travis Browne and her buddy-buddy relationship with Mike Tyson, has many questioning her status as a feminist icon. Add in her general “always attacking others” demeanor, and…well…not a good look.
