I didn’t mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I’d slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday’s.

That led to an enormous wave of backlash on social media from both WWE fans, and WWE talent, as current wrestlers like Becky Lynch, Sheamus and Chris Jericho, and former superstars like Kurt Angle and MVP tore into him. Hilariously, Cena was one of the few wrestlers that didn’t chime in.
While there were plenty of wrestlers that took issue with McGregor, he only fired back at one specific critic; the legendary Ric Flair (and Dolph Ziggler, who Flair said would stretch him without trouble).
“I don’t know what to say to Ric Flair. This ain’t no gimmick. This is the real s–t. I’ve gotta get in and fight a man for real. With no script, with no nothing. He was talking about bringing some other wrestler guys out to challenge me. Come bring it, then. This is the real shit over here. You know want to come over, we can fight no problem.”
How much of this is a work and how much of this is legit remains unclear.
McGregor certainly isn’t above talking down anyone, whether that’s John Cena, Donald Trump, Jose Aldo or Jesus Christ. He’ll say anything he wants about anyone he wants and if you take issue with it, he’s more likely to double-down on it than back off.
