Gunnar Nelson trains with Conor McGregor at SBG over in Ireland. It’s a really well-rounded camp, they’ve got Gunny who is amazing on the ground (As we’ll see in his upcoming bout against Damian Maia) and obviously Conor who knows a thing or two about striking…
Hopefully for Conor’s sake, some of Gunnar’s ground game has rubbed off on him for his upcoming bout against the super well-rounded Jose Aldo. The clip below proves that Gunnar is more than just a ground guy, he took it to Brandon Thatch on the feet.
Here’s what Gunnar had to say in an interview with Fox Sports:
“It’s an MMA match, so I will take anything that I see, any opportunity that I see. I’m not going to hold back. I’m not going to go in there and say I’m just going to grapple and I’m not going to go in there and say I want to keep him away from me and punch him. I’m going to take whatever I see there, and that’s the way I always fight best.”
Gunnar Nelson showing off that striking:
Thatch is no slouch, either. He’s dropped his last two, but before that he was on a 10 fight winning streak.
