Bellator MMA announced that they would be belting a new champion at Bellator 155. Former Strikeforce champ Marloes Coenen would face the battle-hardened Julia Budd. The problem? The fight would be on the PRELIMINARY CARD.
Yeah, Bellator wants you to tune into a TITLE FIGHT on your cell phone. The logic behind the move is that Bellator is using the fight to attract hardcore fans to their app but the reality is that they’re grossly undercutting women’s MMA, especially when one looks at the other fights on the card:
It’s just sad that they’d give Marloes Coenen, a legitimate pioneer, second billing to the likes of Joey Beltran, Chase Gormley and Augusto Sakai.
