Top 4 MMA Jims

Articles

Not too long ago we took a look at some of the best MMA gyms in the world, and even the best Muay Thai gyms. This time around, we’re going to enrich your life with a list of the Top MMA Jims. Enjoy.

Jim Miller

jim-millerMr. Miller is one of the most exciting fighters in all of mixed martial arts, and probably the most talented fighter named Jim, making him our Top MMA Jim of 2014. He’s coming off a loss to Cerrone, which is nothing to be ashamed of and we won’t hold it against him – it happens to the best. Miller is 31 but he’s one of those guys where it just feels like he’s been around forever. He might not hold any titles, but you never know – all it takes is a hot streak. Jim Miller is a staple to the ligthweight division and a very welcome addition to any card he’s on.

Jimmy Smith

jimmy-smihtBellator’s bald-headed booth buddy isn’t a poor man’s Joe Rogan, he’s actually one of the best parts of the Bellator promotion. Like Rogan, this fighter-turned-commentator isn’t afraid to call out some bullshit when he sees it and to question the officials and their questionable decisions. Recently, Jimmy Smith joined Joe Rogan on Rogan’s podcast to co-commentate a UFC event. Fans could sync up the live stream with the fightgs on TV and have Rogan + Smith doing the voice work rather than Kenny Florian and Jon Anik. The UFC needs to hire Jimmy Smith.

Art Jimmerson

art-jimmerson-one-gloveMr. One Glove from the very first UFC ever. Art Jimmerson was the first boxer to get absolutly crushed by jiu-jitsu and MMA, but definitely not the last. He’s a good sport about it, even going so far as to attend a fan Q&A for the UFC 20th anniversary celebration wearing his signature single boxing glove. UFC fans who haven’t seen the early events, grab yourself a Fightpass because there’s some absolutely insane stuff to see, a dude in a boxing glove is far from being the wildest thing from those early days. One of the best things you can do as an MMA fan is to take a trip through the archives.

Jimi Manuwa

jimi-manuwaManuwa hasn’t fought since taking his first career loss to Alexander Gustaffsson, who was a man on a mission to get another crack at Jon Jones. None the less, Jimi has fought some battles and beaten some very tough opponents. We’re hoping he gets another fight scheduled and destroys someone in devastating fashion.
