Ronda’s a superstar and the world has fallen in love with her, but as with anyone who reaches massive levels of success she’s also got her share of haters. Since she’s so outspoken and does whatever she feels like, it’s not uncommon for Ronda to add a bit of fuel to the haters’ fire – here are a few times that she poured gasoline.
Some of these haters almost have a valid point, but a lot of them are just grasping at straws as haters often will.
The Refused Handshake
Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate’s rivalry is very real and very bitter. Before Ronda came along, Miesha was the top dog in women’s MMA. None the less, after their title fight in the UFC, after Ronda won, Miesha extended her arm to shake hands in a display of sportsmanship. Ronda rejected the olive branch, saying that she couldn’t forgive Miesha for things Miesha had said about Ronda’s friends and training partners during the build-up to their fight.
Ronda’s mom went on to say much more colorful things, so we’ll see how that plays out.
Domestic Violence
When Ronda caught one of her exes taking nude pics of her, she beat him up. The haters were upset about this double standard because she’s been very outspoken against a certain boxing legend and his past. Her boyfriend was accused of domestic violence as well, but the alleged victim hasn’t pressed charges and the investigator that the UFC hired didn’t find any compelling evidence to substantiate the allegations. Critics of Ronda see this as a “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” kind of situation.
