Rather than the home intruders breaking in, the neighbour says that the 11 year old boy and one of the 16 year olds were standing on the porch for a while arguing before the 11 year old boy shot the other guy. That’s a different narrative than breaking into the kid’s house, but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t still an act of self-defence and protecting his sister. The investigation will reveal the truth.
