GSP Comeback Fight Confirmed, He’ll Be Fighting For The Belt But Not The One You Think

Articles

GSP is going to be leaving his home weightclass of 170 and moving up to 185 to challenge Michael Bisping for the Middleweight belt.

Someone’s going to win, someone’s going to lose… obviously… If GSP wins, he’s got a really tough murderer’s row of guys to face to defend that belt. If Michael wins, he’s got to be legitimately in the talks of being one of the GOATs, like it or not, he’ll have win over two out of the three guys who are widely considered among the best to ever step inside the Octagon, and on top of that he’s got a win over Matt Hamill, the only guy to ever get a W over Jon Jones. Sure, it’s kind of sketchy circumstances for a few of those, but still… on paper, you could make the argument he’s one of the goats. He avenged his most brutal loss to Hendo, he’s got a W over Silva, he’d have a W over GSP, and an incredible career resurgance during the USADA-era, after speaking critically against steroids for most of his career and taking some tough losses to guys who would later test positive.

Anyways, a date for the fight has yet to be announced, but we’ll keep you posted becasue this is exciting.

Some people are upset, saying GSP doesn’t deserve the title shot and this is just the new owners trying to cash in, but it’s far from being one of the most egregious title shots out there.
