Dan On Dan Crime: Cormier Ragdolls Henderson At UFC 173

Articles

Just incase anyone still had any doubts, Daniel Cormier is the real deal. If his absolute dominance so far in mma wasn’t enough to prove it, the way he tossed around Dan Henderson sure was. I can’t think of a time where Dan Henderson has ever been completly dominated for an entire fight. Sure he’s lost his share of times, but he’s usually competitive at least during some stage of the fight. That was not the case last Saturday night.

To paraphrase what Rogan said during the broadcast, “With all due respect, it’s like watching a man and a boy.

Is Cormier is Ready for Jones?

DC moved down from Heavyweight because he had already reached the top of that thin division and refused to fight his BFF Cain Velasquez. DC and Cain train together and spar constantly, so that would be an incredible fight to see. However, sometimes it’s bros before title shots, so DC dropped down to LHW and has already worked his way into contendership.
It’s rare to see Jon Jones on the ground, but it would be a real treat to see how he holds up to the wrestling of Cormier. Jon Jones is an accomplished wrestler in his own right, but Cormer is thick, strong as hell, and massive. Now, there’s a big difference between being “ready” for Jones and actually having a shot at beating him, but Cormier is and does. Would Cormier be able to hold down Jon Jones while landing body shots and big elbows round after round? That remains to be seen, but it would be a hell of a fight.

Perfect Records on the Line

Cormier has said he’ll wait to fight Jon Jones who is already tied up waiting for a rematch against Alexander Gustaffson. For all intents and purposes, Jon Jones is undefeated in MMA, as is Cormier, so if there two face off then one of them is certain to taste defeat.

Who’s going to win? Jones or DC? (Assuming Jones makes it past The Mauler…)
