There’s this new show where Dana White and Matt Serra travel around to small promotions to scope out new talent. It’s a lot more entertaining than most of the last 10 or so seasons of TUF, so here’s to hoping they put The Ultimate Fighter out of its misery so that we can watch Matt Serra arguing with promoters instead.
Usually the UFC will take their time to sign prospects, allowing them to develop in smaller promotions, but as soon as Dana and Matt saw Sage Northcutt they started salivating and Dana got a rock-hard moneyrection and signed the kid on the spot.
“Saige VanZant” is set to debut in the UFC this weekend at UFC 192. The UFC is becoming their own feeder organization because otherwise the competition will snap these guys up. If you want to stay on top, you’ve got to secure the existing big names in the sport and also build up the next generation.
