This story just keeps getting weirder. We all remember how Wanderlei Silva literally ran away when the athletic commission showed up to his gym to give him a random drug test. Apparently he didn’t need to take that one, since he had already taken a drug test… that he did on his own, in Brazil. Sounds legit.
Life is great. I’m training well. I did a test on my own in Brazil, on June 6, to see if the corticoid and the diuretic were already out of my body. I also tested my testosterone levels. At my age, the level is 180, and I’m at 160. I’m totally clean and cleared to fight as soon as possible. I’m just waiting for the UFC to tell me a date and local. In two months, I will be ready to fight.
That sounds great, except for the fact that it’s untrue and he’s certainly not cleared to fight. In Dana’s words…
There’s no way in hell [the NSAC] are letting him off. No way in hell. They are going to bury Wanderlei Silva. In my humble opinion, they’re going to bury him.
So there’s that. Which is a far stretch from “Cleared to fight as soon as possible.”
MAYBE… JUST MAYBE…
Maybe it’s time for Wandy to just hang ’em up and enjoy retirement? With Chael out of the picture, there aren’t really any interesting fights for him and do we really want to see a post-TRT Wandy get crushed?
