Video: Johnny Walker Knocked Out Three Times In 18 Seconds

Knockouts

It was a spectacular finish by Walker, but what had everyone talking was his post-fight celebration. Walker attempted to do the worm and injured his shoulder in the process. He was asked about it during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan and he confirmed that he had dislocated his shoulder. Despite being the man normally delivering the spectacular knockouts, Walker has been on the receiving end of one of the oddest or depending on how you look at it worst stoppages in MMA.

3 KO’s in 18 seconds.

Back in 2016 while fighting in Brazil, Walker faced Henrique Silva at Jungle Fight 88. Walker was an up and coming fighter competing in the heavyweight division at the time. Fans are used to him ending fights quickly, but this time he was on the receiving end of a quick finish. The fight ended in just 18 seconds but it could have been even faster if the ref had done his job.

Silva rocked Walker’s block with the first punch he threw. It knocked down Walker who went into survival mode. After some follow up strikes while Walker was on the ground he clearly goes out, but the referee doesn’t stop it. Silva steps over him thinking it is over but Walker stands back up immediately and the fight continues. Another punch drops Walker again and some ground and pound send him limp face first on the canvas. The referee still doesn’t stop the fight and it takes Walker being knocked out one more time for the ref to stop the fight.

Walker was knocked out three times in 18 seconds. It was crazy to see because it looked very obvious that he was out each time. The referee should have intervened after each of the first two knockouts. That’s what you call a bad day at the office for Walker.

It is pretty crazy that the referee let the fight continue. I think there would be a pretty unanimous consensus that this fight should have been stopped after the first knockout. Luckily Walker didn’t suffer any serious damage from the fight being allowed to continue. What did you think about the job the referee did during this fight?
