Editor’s note: We screwed up and forgot to add in George Foreman, and Roberto Duran.

Forget about accuracy, forget about technical prowess, forget about effectiveness… Certain fighters throughout history have a certain kind of power that can’t be taught or learned. You can work on the proper technique to throw a punch all day, but if you don’t have the natural gift, you won’t ever make it to the same level as these guys.

Mariusz Pudzianowski

Knocking out a Gracie in :27 doesn’t earn you a spot on this list, but being one of the strongest men to ever walk the face of the earth certainly does. Pudzian is the walking personification of the word beast. He’s not the most technical fighter, but he’s got the raw power and strength to shut off the lights with one punch. He has studied martial arts for a long time, and it definitely appears his strongman strength has carried over into his striking mechanics.

Anthony Johnson

Rumble Johnson has been having an incredible resurgence lately. The fact that Cormier took a clean shot from him and lived to tell about it is just a testament to the chin, the heart, and the determination of DC.

Johnson had a heck of a time cutting weight, but now that he’s fighting up a couple of classes he can focus on what he does best which is introducing his opponents to the ground.

Tommy Hearns

Hearns has that special kind of power that followed him from 147lbs all the way up to 190lbs. Hearns, at 6ft1, taking on Duran at 154lbs is a prime example of that power. Something about that lanky physique could generate incredible power for the division, which he was able to translate as he moved up in weight too.
