Self Defense Is Now Illegal In The UK

Weird

If you’re thinking “WTF”, you aren’t alone. Here’s some clarification, not that it’s going to help when you’re walking down a dark alley and get approached by a gang of hooligans.

  • You must not get a product which is made or adapted to cause a person injury. Possession of such a product in public (and in private in specific circumstances) is against the law.
  • There are products which squirt a relatively safe, brightly coloured dye (as opposed to a pepper spray). A properly designed product of this nature, used in the way it is intended, should not be able to cause an injury.
  • However, be aware that even a seemingly safe product, deliberately aimed and sprayed in someone’s eyes, would become an offensive weapon because it would be used in a way that was intended to cause injury.
  • Any products bought from abroad have a greater chance of being illegal.

So you can squirt colored dye at an attacker, as long as you don’t aim for their face. The only way to make sure you aren’t putting yourself in danger of prison time or criminal charges when you’re being attacked and assaulted, is to just stand there and take it. That way, when you’re in court (IF YOU SURVIVE), you’ll be able to honestly tell the judge that you didn’t use any banned weapons and that you definitely didn’t try to hurt the poor piece of shit that attacked you.

Great move UK, let’s make sure the criminals are safe. It’s not like criminals will ever break the law by carrying around any kind of weapon that could harm somebody…
