Sage Northcutt auditioned to be the son of Ivan Drago in the sequel to Creed

Go yes. After all, a confrontation between the son of Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago would offer a more even duel and would turn Creed 2 into a much more personal story. On the other hand, the young Russian would be ideal to explore the ideals of his veteran father, who could either take his defeat as a sports education or as a mistake that should be corrected.

On the other hand, Sylvester Stallone himself revealed a long time ago that this sequel will follow in the footsteps of The Godfather II, with a double plot that explores the origins of Apollo Creed and the present of Adonis Johnson. An heir to the glories of Drago would be vital to achieve it.

Finally, we do not know what other actors have added for this character, but at least Sage Northcutt seems to have some advantage because of his obvious resemblance to Dolph Lundgren.

Creed 2 will star Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lindgren. The film is written and directed by Sly himself and premieres at some point in 2018.
