Ronda Rousey has had small roles in a few big movies so far, but now she’s taking it to the next level.

Ronda’s going to be taking over the leading role from the late Patrick Swayze in a remake of the classic ‘Road House’.

This isn’t the first time they’ve tried to capitalize on this masterpiece of American Cinema, Road House 2 went direct-to-video in 2006. Something tells us that Ronda’s version is going to do a lot better than that.

The original Road House came out in 1989, when Swayze was at the peak of his prime.

This is the 2nd movie that’s in the pipeline with Ronda (that’s been announced, there are probably more in the works), with Mile 22 opposite Mark Wahlberg being the other one.

Ronda wants to respect the original, she even reached out to the widow of Patrick Swayze to get her blessing before agreeing to take on his iconic role. Production is set to begin in 2016. Ronda has at least one fight scheduled before then, and may fit in another – or get the movie out of the way earlier in the year so she’s free for UFC 200 next summer.

It’ll be tough to top Chris Pratt’s remake of Road House. Check it out on the next page.
