Long before he was Tony Stark and one of the highest paid actors ever, Robert Downey Junior was very close to death as he battled a crippling drug addiction. He managed to turn his life around, and on Christmas eve he was pardoned of his past drug offenses so that he can move forward with a clean slate.

Downey Jr. is one of the rare success stories when it comes to beating drug addiction, most people that sink as deep as him don’t make it out the other side to tell the story, and he attributes a lot of that success to his diligent martial arts training.
