So if you read our recap of TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs last night (which you totally should have because I wrote it and I can assure you that it’s awesome), you know that TLC ended with Roman Reigns going berserk and chair-shotting Alberto Del Rio, Rusev, at-the-time champion Sheamus and, most surprisingly, Triple H. The angle that got played out throughout RAW was that Vince McMahon was traveling to Philadelphia to personally deal with Reigns’ punishment.
TLC had a crap build but wound up being a super-duper fun event.
When McMahon arrived, Reigns goaded him and Sheamus into setting up a championship title match in the RAW main event, with the stipulation that Reigns would be fired from the company if he loses. When the match came it was a standard Reigns vs. Sheamus affair until Reigns landed a superman punch and went for the pin, which would have sealed the match until Vince pulled the referee out of the ring.

This would lead to Reigns punching Vince after some interference by Del Rio and Rusev, which then lead to a match-ending spear. Reigns was given the belt and the show went to a close with him overcoming the odds…again…because he’s still an underdog, I guess.
