Manuel Charr was fighting Klitschko for the Heavyweight belt in 2012, now he’s fighting for his life after being shot 4 times in a drive-by.
He showed up at a kebab shop to meet somebody who had been talking trash online, but the coward didn’t even get out of his car… He just fired shots at the boxer then drove away. We knew internet trolls were cowards, but this takes it to a whole new level.
Granted, talking shit to a pro boxer online then standing face-to-face with him isn’t the brightest idea, but it’s a much better plan shooting the guy and then driving away.
According to a friend of the boxer, in a statement made to the german media outlet Bild:
“This was a provocation, Charr has problems with a man from Essen, wanted to tell him: Look, I’m in your city, let`s sort it out and meet up. Then the guy Manuel ordered to the diner, but that was a lousy trick.” via Boxing247.
The gunman is still at large. Once they’re captured, an appriote punishiment would be getting locked in a ring with with Charr for 12 rounds and seeing what happened.
Charr is used to looking into the face of danger, not staring down the barrel of a gun.
Manual Charr is far from being the first pro boxer to confront an internet troll…
