It is no secret that during the preparation for the Mayweather vs McGregor fight Malignaggi and “The Notorious.” developed a beef. This is surrounding an allegation that Conor lied about knocking down during a sparring session. Paulie Malignaggi confronted Conor about this and “The Notorious” just brush him off telling him to “get over it” with Malignaggi accusing Conor that he has no balls
Paulie immediately left Conor training the camp after news surfaced online and in media outlets that McGregor knocked him down during a sparring session. Which he said did not reveal the full truth in the video Conor shared online about the event. And have requested many times Conor release the full video which The Notorious has declined.

Since then Malignaggi had hoped that Conor would have continued his boxing debut so that the two of them could meet in the ring and he could vindicate himself that Conor McGregor could not knock him out.
However, regardless of that Malignaggi has not lost hope on the possibility of a match between himself and Conor McGregor. Speaking to Luke Thomas of The MMA Hour Malignaggi is so confident that he would decimat the UFC pro fighter that afterward no one will even remember his or his whiskey any moore.
