Dear MMA Gods… I don’t know if you’re really out there or if you can hear me but if you can… Please, oh please let us get to see Nick Diaz against Anderson Silva. If you could let this happen for the fans, I promise to appease you by giving Cyborg the respect she deserves and putting way more effort into hyping up Mighty Mouse fights. This would be one of the biggest fights of all time, it’s impossible to deny. The intrigue alone would blow any Lesnar or GSP fights out of the water. Most importantly, Nick and Silva are both into it.
This would be the perfect fight for the massive Superbowl card in 2015. Anderson wants it. Diaz wants it. The fans want it. Neither fighter is hot right now or putting a winning streak on the line. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Nick Diaz has said time and time again that he wants big fights. He doesn’t want to have to string a few together first, he’s not interested in stepping into the octagon without a huge payday and who can blame him?
So how much money will it take to get Diaz in there with Anderson?
Nick Diaz: I’ll fight Anderson Silva for the right price.

Nick Diaz: I don’t know. GSP Money.
It’s unclear how much money “GSP Money” is but if Stockton can get a piece of the PPV this could be an absolutely massive windfall for him and Anderson alike. Diaz recognized this. It’s not the title shot he wanted, but it’s the huge fight he wants. Silva recognizes this, and there isn’t a bigger return fight for Anderson besides a possible Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen 3 if Chael was kind enough to give Anderson a third chance after The American Gangster took the first two wins.
