MMA Fighter Allegedly Kills Himself Playing Russian Roulette

It’s already been a very difficult year for MMA, and just keeps getting worse. According to multiple sources former Bellator and Legacy FC bantamweight Ivan Cole. He was 25 years old. While that’s sad on its own, according to CBS’s Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, the cause is a game of Russian Roulette. Here’s what they had to say on Facebook:




While police have not yet confirmed that to be true, saying simply that “the death of Mr. Cole will be classified as an unexplained death pending the results of the autopsy,” it is the latest in an already terrible year for the sport of MMA.

In February, former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman died due to complications from pneumonia. In April, Portugese fighter Joao Carvalho died due to complications from injuries suffered during an MMA bout. In May, Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons died after a hit-and-run incident, also at 25 years old. Earlier this month, street fighter-turned-mixed martial artist Kimbo Slice died due to heart troubles just a few months after facing Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris.
