Miesha Tate Doubled Up On Sports Bras To Avoid Having The Second UFC Nip Slip

MMA

The nip slip was a major egg-on-face moment for both the UFC and Reebok. The UFC has been bending over backwards to make the Reebok deal not seem absolutely awful in every way for every involved party, and the specially-designed sports bra was one of the most heavily pushed aspects of their uniform…excuse me, “fight kit” roll-out.

In spite of technically violating the UFC’s Reebok policy, Tate seems to be completely safe from any kind of punishment. Even better, her win over Jessica Eye set her up for a title shot against Ronda Rousey after she beats Bethe Correia (yeah, nobody here is going to pretend Correia stands a chance).

Tate gave some advice on how this can be avoided in the future:

“There’s definitely some input (I’ll share),” she said. “We need a thicker band around the base (of the bra), to kind of make sure it stays down. It’s just kind of (too) soft. … You don’t want to have to worry about that kind of stuff in the middle of a fight.”

Here’s hoping Reebok can get their act together and start producing unif-…”fight kits” that can actually conceal peoples’ nudity.
