Her boyfriend and BJJ coach, fellow UFC fighter Bryan Caraway, can be seen next to her, talking to her as she lays on the floor and, according to the report, chilled his hand and touched her neck to help her cool down between a “home sauna” session and an epsom salt bath, designed to make her sweat as much as possible, to allow her to drop down to 135 pounds for the fight.

Before the fight, rumors were swirling that Tate had a particularly difficult cut. That would later be confirmed when she barely made it to the UFC’s weigh-ins, coming in at the last minute and needing to strip naked in order to make the limit. While she did in fact make weight, it’s hard not to wonder if her loss to Nunes at UFC 200 was due to the weight cut more than anything else.
