Everyone and their mother knows that a fight between Jones and Miocic would be great. Miocic is just very, very good in all areas of the cage, but Jon Jones has that one of a kind, “once in human history” swagger. It would be a solid technician against a pure, unfiltered talent.

It ain’t gonna happen, though.

Jones has absolutely no incentive to move up in weight class. He doesn’t have an especially brutal cut to 205 pounds (there was a lot of talk that he’d have to move up once he approached 30 years old) and the money isn’t better.

Meanwhile, look who he has in front of him right now! A rematch with Daniel Cormier, who he already beat, would do huge money. A rematch with Alexander Gustafsson, who he already beat, would do huge money!

Don’t expect Jones to move up until he has financial or physical incentive to do so.
