Joe Rogan SLAMS New York Times for FAKE Story About Conor McGregor

Articles

In the past year or two, a lot of people who still trusted the media have seen time and time again that you really have to be skeptical about everything you read, even when it’s coming from a big, reputable source.

Granted, every big media outlet puts out plenty of true stories, but every now and then they’ll publish something that’s demonstrably false, and it really makes you question everything else they put out there. If an outlet like the New York Times is going to BLATANTLY make up a false narrative like this one over something as insignificant as a boxing match, that EVERYONE watched and knows what actually happened, it makes it hard to trust them when we’re dealing with a story that’s ACTUALLY important, and they’re quoting “anonymous sources”, how do you trust them then? If they’re going to make shit up about something that was filmed and watched by millions of people, who is to say if they’re telling the truth when it’s just them in a room alone with a source?

Anyways, Joe Rogan has been feeling similar, and after reading The NYT’s depiction of how the Conor McGregor / Mayweather fight ended, he decided to call them out:

“Seriously, @nytimes? What the fuck is this description about? As confusing as the world is today, and with a president that’s always crying out “fake news” this just fuels the fire and undermines all the legitimate journalism you guys do.  This is a completely inaccurate description of Conor and the end of the fight.  I almost feel compelled to write “SAD!””

The New York Times has been dubbed the “Failing New York Times” by the President. Regardless of where you stand politically, you’d certainly expect them to rise above the criticism and use it as an opportunity to prove that they’re the real deal, instead of playing right into his hand. It doesn’t matter who you voted for, you deserve honest and accountable journalism from huge, established media outlets and you should be disappointed at them when they blatantly lie to you.

UPDATE: The New York Times have since deleted their original tweet after massive backlash, and posted a new version in that weasely sort of backpedaling way without ever really admitting they blatantly lied:

“Late punches”… what late punches?
