It’s 100% true…” Rogan told Frank Trigg back in 2011, “I want the fight and now it’s up to Wesley Snipes to accept. As for Snipes motivation? I think he wants to rejuvenate his action movie career.” That was 4 years ago, putting Rogan at a mature but not impossible fighting age of 43. Unfortunately for fight fans, this highly anticipated UFC battle between the bankrupt hollywood actor and that guy from fear factor failed to materialize. Word on the streets was Wesley chickened out, Rogan was down to scrap. Now at 47, the thought of Rogan lacing up the gloves is implausible, but still not impossible.

With the signing of CM Punk the UFC has demonstrated that they’re not completely opposed to the freak show, as long as the numbers really make sense. As ridiculous as it sounds, Rogan stepping into the cage would be the biggest draw in UFC history, millions would tune in with morbid curiosity to see if the 47 year old funny man could really walk the walk.

Many fighters and trainers such as Duane Ludwig vouch for the legitimacy of Rogan’s martial arts expertise.

Would Dana let him go through with it? Not the best look for a budding professional sport still grasping for mainstream legitimacy. Nate Diaz expressed this point with surprising eloquence when asked about the signing of CM Punk, “I know he’s a big draw. I looked him up. Everyone’s going to buy tickets. It’s going to be great for the venue and the UFC, but at the same time, it downgrades all the fighters. He’s an amateur. You’re going to put an amateur in there with pros? That makes us all amateurs, so I think it’s ridiculous.

The real question is, with a net worth of $23 million dollars, a beautiful family, and a rockstar career would Rogan have any interest?
