You may of heard that earlier this year, Joe Rogan’s UFC commentary contract with the UFC is set to expire in August.

Joe has remained tight-lipped about what he was going to do with regards to this contract. Many fight fans would love him to stay on, but with his silence many were thinking the worst.

So frustrating: Should I stay or should I go now..

Rogan said once that him resigning would depends on if the UFC sale went ahead or not. He said, if the sale happens, he wouldn’t want to keep his job as the much loved commentator for the UFC.

“I’m not working for anybody else,” Joe said. “If the sale goes through I’m outta there. I’m already wondering whether or not I can continue doing this as it is. I will always be a fan, I’ll always love it, but shit, I’ve been working for the UFC on and off for almost 20 years. And that’s more than I’ve done anything in my life. I’d like to move on. The only other thing I’ve done longer than that is stand-up comedy, but you know, with stand-up comedy I’m constantly writing new material, I’m traveling, I do it out of my schedule, I do it whenever I want. You know, it’s a very different thing calling fights rather than just being a fan. I’ll always be a fan, for sure, but as far as calling fights… boy, I don’t see that going on very much longer.”

Rogan has interviewed them all over the years. Here with Ronda Rousey.

The news came today that, Rogan will be resigning even though the sale did in fact go through. He said he will stay on for at least one more year.

“I was on the fence, man,” Joe said. “I just do too much s**t. I’m too f***ing busy. After a while I’m like, I don’t know if I’m doing myself or all the different things I do a disservice. I was real close. It was like, either I’m just gonna completely bail off of this or I’m gonna figure it out.”
