Watch Joe Rogan React To Fake Martial Artists

Articles

There’s a lot of snake oil for sale in the world of martial arts.

If you haven’t heard the term “McDojo” it refers to a martial arts school that’s setup, usually in a kind of suburban area, that churns students out, gives them belts they don’t really deserve, and basically offers a way for people to buy their way in rather than earning it, more or less.

It can also refer to big chains that don’t necessarily have the same heart and care as a more authentic gym, or don’t necessarily have the same caliber of instructors.

There are also websites where you can earn belts online without ever having to step foot in a gym.

All of these sketchy martial arts situations lead to some people thinking they’re a lot better than they are, or simply being too ignorant to realize their teachers are total shams.

This false confidence can sometimes get people into some real trouble, especially when they come up against an actual martial artist.

Joe Rogan has often spoken out against FAKE martial arts, and here’s a video of him reacting to them.

Has anyone out there in Fightstate Land ever had a bad / weird / funny experience with a less-than-reputable martial arts gym? Make sure you hop back over to the FB comments and let us know what happened. Have you ever came across someone who thinks they’re some kind of MMA master, yet you know they’re full of hot air? How did  you react to that encounter?

It’s always funny when you ask a fake martial artist to prove themselves, especially when they start to squirm or come up with all sorts of weird excuses. On the one hand, you just want to spar with them and show them what’s up, but on the other hand at a certain point it’s just sad.
