Instead Of Training For 2016 Comeback, Ronda Rousey Is Going To Acting School

If you love MMA, you love Ronda Rousey. Rousey is everything you ever wanted MMA to be. She’s a legitimate world-class athlete, she’s skilled in a number of combat sports disciplines and above all, she’s an actual mainstream celebrity! Because of her ass-kicking skills!

She’s everything fans wanted for so long and fans want her to come back. Even the fans that say they hate her want her to come back. And Jesus knows that the UFC would probably murder a baby in front of its mother to bring her back.

Unfortunately, Rousey seems to have other plans. According to actor Devon Sawa, Rousey is going all-in right now in acting school.

Ronda Rousey's already been in a few big movies and there's no reason for her to stop acting now.

Here’s the tweet:

Sawa is best known for being the lead in the 1999 film “Idle Hands” (that movie where young Jessica Alba wore angel lingerie and looked smoking hot) and 2000’s “Final Destination”. While he isn’t attached to the Rousey camp in any way, he’s been around Hollywood for 22 years. Couple that with how Rousey recently signed a multi-film deal with Lifetime and it’s hard not to take him at his word on this.

While Rousey’s gotten plenty of shade thrown her way, she’s actually been pretty good on-screen thus far, posting solid performances in “The Expendables 3”, “Entourage” and “Furious 7”. That said, those performances weren’t especially difficult draws for her, playing directly into her “be big and strong” image and not requiring all that much in the way of dialogue.

There’s easy money for Rousey in Hollywood, at least in the short term, and taking legitimate acting lessons will help her possibly graduate to bigger, more legitimate roles. Unfortunately, the gains she makes in tinsel town come at a direct expense to her fighting career…which seems more and more dead by the day.

What do you guys think? Have you ever gone to see a movie just because Ronda is in it? How do you think she could handle a more in-depth acting role, like if she was starring in a movie or had a lot more speaking scenes, rather than mostly just fighting people? Time will tell, and hopefully the acting lessons help.
