People have been debating whether or not Holly Holm will have the same mainstream appeal as Ronda Rousey had, and so far the answer is a resounding yes.
As evidenced by the fact that Holly Holm is showing up on the types of daytime talkshows that your mom watches.
When a fighter crosses over from doing interviews on The MMA Hour and other niche shows and actually showing up on national TV, you know they’ve become a star.

One of the interviews refers to the fight as “the game” and the audience groans audibly about Ronda not touching gloves and you can tell these people have never seen a fight before. Holly Holm is a good representative for MMA towards people who are new to fighting, kind of like how Rich Franklin was back in the day.
Hopefully the UFC decides to put the same promotional push behind Holly Holm that they did for Ronda Rousey. It only took a couple of years to turn Ronda into a mega-star, and now Holly has a chance to not only steal that thunder, but to ride the lightning.
