The UFC International Fight Week (TM) continued rolling. After an incredibly fun Fight Night 90 card, which saw Eddie Alvarez take the UFC title off Rafael dos Anjos and possible enter “all-time great” status, the finale to The Ultimate Fighter 23 came, with coaches Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha fighting in the main event.
It was a rollercoaster of a show, so let’s jump on in.
Joanna’s the best. Hits the reverse then tells Ol’ girl to get up. #tuffinale https://t.co/nwR1i7fahW

Joanna Jedrzejczyk Retained Impressively
Strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk was down on the scorecards after two rounds after getting out-grappled badly. So what did she do? Hulked up, brought the fight to Gadelha and took the win with an exciting decision. Notes:
- Seriously, if you’re one of those idiots that hates on women’s MMA, watch this fight. Joanna is one of the best pure strikers in MMA today and is as tough as anyone in the world.
- Joanna tried to squash the beef they had on TUF23. Gadelha, however, wasn’t willing to close that door.
- Gadelha is one of the best in the world, but now has two losses to Joanna on her record. It’s unlikely she ever gets a title shot again, unless Joanna either loses the title or vacates it.
Doo-Ho Choi Murdered Some Guy
Korean prospect Doo-Ho Choi has had striking nerds gushing for years now…and for good reason. He set foot into the Octagon for the third time tonight and scored his third first-round knockout in a row. Notes:
- Choi is basically an orthodox-stanced, Korean Michael Page. He’s long, strong, and can punch a dude’s lights out from an incredible range.
- He called out the winner of Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Cub Swanson after his fight. Smart!
