Edson Barboza has a handful of absolutely brutal knockouts under his belt, and here’s a really interesting one from not too long ago.
He’s up against Dariush, and this GIF does a really good job of highlighting exactly what’s going down.
Watch as Barboza learns Dariush’s patterns and attempted combos, namely the jab to try to open up the takedown attempt. Barboza takes a mental note, and then finally after the jab comes in, he’s ready to land that absolutely devastating blow and it’s lights out. This was Barboza’s most recent fight, on March 11, 2017, and brought his overall pro record to 19-4 while dropping Dariush to 14–3.
Both fighters have some good wins and some tough losses. When Barboza is on, he’s a wrecking machine for sure. He’s got some very flashy KO’s under his belt. Dariush is a bit of a dark horse fighter, he’s been around for a while and stays active, but hasn’t quite gotten the massive exposure that other fighters get sometimes, but he’s currently ranked #11 and looking to crack that top 10 with his next fight, we’ll keep you posted.
