Fedor Says That Women Shouldn’t Compete In MMA Because It’s a Man’s Sport

In a recent interview, Fedor (with the help of an interpreter) shared his views on a number of topics. The topic of women competing in MMA is one of his more controversial viewpoints. For some context, remember that Russia is probably about 50 years behind when it comes to social issues, and Fedor is BFF’s with Putin. None the less, when you have a less progressive viewpoint on a topic than Uncle Dana, it might be time to re-evaluate.

When asked about Ronda Rousey, here’s what Fedor had to say (via his interpreter)

“He saw her fight. She has really interesting fights. Maybe a little bit of improvement to striking, but he doesn’t support women’s MMA.”

Since being added to the UFC, the women have been some of the most game competitors, and Ronda Rousey is probably the most well-known martial artist of our generation based on mainstream appeal and recognition.

“Women shouldn’t compete in UFC/MMA because this sport is for men,” said Emelianenko with the help of his interpreter. “There are a lot of sports where women look like women – like gymnastics, water sports, maybe some athletics.”

“He’s telling that women shouldn’t fight. MMA is for men. It’s a man sport.”

In all fairness to the GOAT, there were a lot of people who had a similar viewpoint at one point or another including GSP.
