Fake Conor McGregor Profile Sends Nasty Letter To Floyd Mayweather, Fox News Tells Everyone It’s Real

MMA

Add this one to the “woops” column for Fox News, who said that a fake message posted by a Conor McGregor impersonator to Floyd Mayweather’s Facebook page was real, and reported it. The post has since been deleted to cover-up the blunder, but here’s what the fake Conor McGregor account said:

“Dear Mr.Mayweather,

I read the other day that you think racism still exists because I talk shit and am loved but when you did it you were hated…would you like a pad or a tampon? The difference between you and me buddy is that I’m IRISH and you are not. When I fight men, women, children, cats and dogs stop for my fights. Forget using skin colour as an excuse!!
Also the reason why I am loved is because I have never stepped down to a fight…I am not a man who picks and chooses his fights out of fear. You ruined your legacy to a certain degree because you didn’t have the balls to fight Manny for years…excuse after excuse is what the fans kept hearing from you and now your angry your not loved? Who was the man you fought after Manny?? I don’t think a lot of people out there know because it was one of the worst pay per view ratings of all time. Just remember this…you can have all the money and power in the world and drive all the fastest cars but like I said before precision beats power and timing beats speed ? enjoy yourself buddy yeah..ya little bitch

Love the man you want to be,
Conor McGregor

Like Floyd, the real Conor likes to show off his wheels too. The two should team up and form some kind of fighting super-team.

This was in response to Floyd saying that Ronda and Conor’s recent fame is largely helped out by the fact that racism is very prevalent in combat sports, as if to say that Conor and Ronda are idolized for their brash antics whereas Floyd gets labelled as the bad guy.

Here’s a recent image that Conor posted. Can you imagine the backlash Floyd would get for a similar picture?

Via Independent.ie:

“The post was left on the page by a profile pretending to be Conor McGregor, from a private Facebook account that lists him as ‘single’ and contains only three photos – two taken from news media websites and one from Conor’s Twitter account.”

“Over 120,000 people liked the fake posts and over 50,000 shared it before it was deleted. The fake profile then went on to set up a ‘Conor McGregor Club’ fan page which 13,000 people liked, despite the real Conor McGregor already having a page with over two million fans on Facebook.”

Here’s what Bruce Buffer had to say about the whole ordeal:

The bottom line is that perception is reality, and people perceive you the way they want to perceive you, and this involves whether you’re black, white, red, yellow or purple. And that’s just the way I look at it. …

We need to play racism down in this country. We have enough issues going on rather than throwing more gasoline on the fire. Why not look at it like, “Hey, Conor McGregor is saying what he’s saying, he’s backing up everything he’s saying, people are listening to what he’s saying.” And, y’know, when Floyd talks people listen to Floyd too.

But they’re two different people from two different fighting sports and they’ll be perceived the way the want to be perceived by the public masses. It’s as simple as that.”
