- Cerrone was fined for a patch on his shorts during the fight. The patch was from his grandmother, and was made from a strip taken from his Muay Thai shorts. You can find a photo on the next page.
- He discussed his frustration with Reebok’s preferential treatment of certain fighters, specifically Conor McGregor, “Patriotically, that is not very cool, is it? Especially when they make a pair of green shorts for McGregor and I get fined for putting a small piece of an American flag on my shorts. It represents my grandma.”
- Cerrone LOVES America: “It’s because I love the United States, it doesn’t matter. I understand the fine, sure, I’ll take a fine, but what they did to me was a lot more than a fine brother.”
- He doesn’t like how either the UFC or Reebok is simply pocketing his money, and said they should donate it to charity: “Let’s at least take that money and give it to a charity of your discretion. I don’t care who. Let’s make it a Wounded Warrior, or any military charity you want.”
- The most important thing is that Cerrone said he intends to continue wearing the patch on his shorts and said he just doesn’t care whether or not the UFC or Reebok likes it or not.
