With just a few days left until SummerSlam, Dolph Ziggler and Lana were finally reunited…and no, it wasn’t any more interesting than any of their previous segments. Ziggler has been out for a good, long while, but the WWE doubled-down on their nonsensical pairing by using Lana as the launchpad for a match between Ziggler and her ex-boyfriend, Rusev.
Unfortunately for all involved parties, the WWE’s attempts at black-and-white storytelling have left all involved parties worse for wear. While Ziggler and Lana, the good guys in this story, have been on a storyline treadmill, the supposed villain, Rusev, has grown into being one of the greatest personalities on the WWE’s roster. And that probably irks the WWE in a big way.
