It looks like Cormier is handing in the towel as so to say. But not so fast Daniel Cormier will fight three times more surely before retiring, as he has recently confirmed that he will not continue competing after March 20, 2019.
“This month of March I will be exactly 12 months in sports. I will not fight again after March 20, 2019 . There will be no returns or anything like that. I’ve said it over and over again, I had an incredible life in sports, I loved every moment.
“My family has always been involved in sports. I have been the center of the athletic universe for my family for a long, long time, it is time for the center to be my children, Daniel and Marquita. It’s time for them to be the center of attention in athletic competitions, I just want to be one of those crazy parents who shout from the stands and brag about their children.”
If Cormier sticks to his word we soon see a great fighter who has shown a lot of courage leave the sport. Interestingly though Cormier did not reveal if he will still be willing to play a part in the UFC combat sports business.
