Anyone that says Thompson is boring is speaking out of pure ignorance. Thompson is one of the best pure strikers in MMA today, and has delivered some of the most beautiful, picturesque knockouts in recent years. His question mark kick KO of Dan Stittgen and spinning kick KO of Jake Ellenberger are absolutely amazing to watch. Though it’s also worth noting that the UFC has done next to nothing to promote Thompson, so it’s on Dana and Co.
The Thompson vs. MacDonald fight wasn’t exactly a slobberknocker of a contest, especially in comparison to the earlier matchup between former hockey goon Steve Bosse and Sean O’Connell (which you should totally check out). That said, it was a fun, technical bout where Thompson showed off his absurd quickness and striking skills.
