Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber Have Another Hilarious Argument About Money

Here is the video, and it’s a good one:

There are a few interesting tidbits in there.

The first, most interesting thing to note is that McGregor was lobbying to fight Faber until shortly before UFC 189, where he fought Chad Mendes on short notice after Jose Aldo withdrew from the fight. He wanted to be in the main event of the UFC’s foray to Dublin in October, which wound up being headlined by Patrick Holohan vs. Louis Smolka, and felt like Faber made a great deal of sense as an opponent.

Also, interestingly, Conor admits to not really wanting to do the season of TUF at all. It’s been pretty obvious with how he’s handled himself throughout the season that he had no real interest in mentoring a crop of young talent (unlike Faber, who has been there and done that) but for somebody to just come out and SAY it? That’s Matt Hughes-like jackassing.

How crazy is it in retrospect that Team Hughes actually beat Team Serra?

Anyway, both men fight at UFC 194. McGregor will hopefully have his fight Jose Aldo for the unified featherweight title while Faber faces Frankie Saenz. Those are some good ones.
