In One Year Conor McGregor Sold Nearly 3X More PPVs Than The Entire Sport of Boxing

“McGregor’s first three pay-per-views drew more buys than GSP’s best three ever.

McGregor’s worst three drew more buys than Ronda Rousey’s best three.

McGregor’s 3.5 million buys from July 2015 to March 2016 was more than the entire UFC managed in 2014, which was estimated at around 3 – 3.2 million buys. Let that sink in for a second. McGregor’s first three pay-per-views brought in more buys than the entire roster did in 2014,” explained user krev54.

Those are undeniable, but how does it compare to boxing? It’s worth noting that not every boxing event releases their numbers, so some of this is based on extrapolation and estimations, but when the numbers are nearly triple in Conor’s favor, it’s safe to say that he’s still at the very least surpassing boxing all by himself.

Based on these numbers, you can see that boxing did: 400K, 600k, 55k, 300k, 300k and 160k (Expected buy-rate for Ward vs Kovalev.)

During the same time span, here are Conor’s numbers: 1600k buys for the first Diaz fight, 1650k for the rematch, and the numbers are still coming in for the Alvarez fight but they’re trending to be one of the top UFC PPV’s ever, although just short of his previous two.
