This still isn’t officially confirmed, and Chael Sonnen has been known to bend the truth in the past. He can be remarkably transparent and honest about things, but he can also been very misleading. In this case, and especially judging by Joe Rogan’s reaction, it seems like he was telling the truth.
Sonnen’s ban for his own failed drug test should be up fairly soon, do you think he’ll step in the Octagon again or should he stay retired?
There are still some fun fights for Sonnen. Imagine he managed to talk his way into a rematch with Bisping and beat him again? Although the first fight’s results were controversial, a lot of people thought Bigping deserved the nod, could you imagine if Chael was able to take him out and become the champion after all? Chael made a promise to his father on his death bed that he would become champion, and he’s gotten very close but no cigar… yet.
Crazier things have happened, this is the UFC in 2016 afterall… anything is possible.
