Can Dustin Poirier Defeat Khabib Nurmagamedov When They Face-off In The Octagon?

The “Diamond” congrats to him as on his recent victory, now that he has that belt around his waist he must now face off a formable rival after defeating Max Holloway. Khabib Nurmagamedov has risen to take on the Dustin Poirier.

Massively popular among the MMA fans, ‘Diamond’ has knocked down a full line of killers (as so to speak) to claim a lightweight title after winning against Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, then finally Max Holloway.

Before he defeated Max Holloway, Poirier has a record of the second most UFC title fights just shy of Michael Bisping. That just goes to show how unforgiving his MMA career has been, and just how much work it takes to reach the top. But for Poirier, this action will mean nothing if he is then beaten by  Khabib Nurmagamedov.

Can Poirer take down Nurmagamedov Is this possible though? The most terrifying fighter on the list now, with an unbeatable record of 27-0. How can a Poirot strike a man who has literally lost only one fight of his entire career – and that’s because he wanted to catch his breath?

At first glance, it seems Poirer is going to be light out, he is doomed. His new upcoming rival has decimated UFC rivals such as Michael Johnson, Edson Barbosa, and Connor McGregor. It is recognized that the last two in the list are ranked higher than Johnson – but the ‘The Menace’ scored a knockout win over Poirer in a lightweight,  then Khabib took him out so it is worth mentioning that the Russian has taken down a rival who even knocked out Dustin.

One of Khabib techniques is that he does not allow his opponents chance to get up the momentum he is upon right from the get-go. Barboza is incredibly dynamic with sublime kicks and strikes. However, he found himself on the back foot and was taking a beating until the fight was stopped. This is exactly what occurred with Conor McGregor before Khabib put him in the chokehold and got him to submit.
