Ben Askren continues to generate controversy inside and outside the octagon, this time his comments went to the new UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

After he made his octagon debut this month at UFC 235, when he finished Robbie Lawler.

After being dominated at the beginning of the fight, Askren managed to reverse the situation and finish his rival with a Bulldog Choke. Herb Dean did not see when Lawler moved and stopped the fight hastily.

A controversial way to win the fight, but for a UFC debut, a win is a victory.

On the same night, in the UFC 235 co-star, friend and training partner Tyron Woodley defended his belt against Kamaru Usman.

Unfortunately for Woodley, things did not go as he thought and lost the belt by unanimous decision.

When everyone congratulated Usman on his victory, Ben Askren said otherwise.

Funky accused Usman that he won the fight in a boring way .

Recently, Ben Askren again drew media attention by saying he will retire if he loses to Usman by KO.

“If Martin knocks me out I could retire, look at his record he can’t punch worth a damn” wrote Askren on Twitter.

Askren, who is unbeaten as Welterweight, also indicated that he can finish the new champion without problems

When I finish it, can I give him his brown belt back? For now he will have to wait for his chance, everything seems to indicate that Kamaru Usman will face Colby Covington in his first belt defense.

Covington does not see action from UFC 225, last June, when he beat Rafael Dos Anjos to be crowned interim champion Welter weights.
